The AJC Vision

The Arrowhead Juvenile Center promotes behavioral change and recidivism reduction through the use of evidence-based practices and targeted interventions. Youth have access to on-site public education, mental health services, cultural services, chemical dependency education, and chaplaincy services.

Each youth is assigned a case manager that assists with service coordination. Programming offered at AJC is evidenced-based, gender responsive, trauma-informed and trauma-responsive.

AJC Programming

  • The Short-Term Consequence Program was designed to address technical violations and provide a timely consequence to those youth not complying with their conditions of probation.

  • Each assessment is designed to fit the resident’s identified needs and will produce a comprehensive written report detailing intervention recommendations.

  • The Kenwood group is designed for male residents in need of correctional programming.

This program utilizes the Thinking for a Change curriculum, Non Violence Group, and Conflict Resolution in addition to other programming. As a secure facility, AJC is equipped to meet the needs of boys facing certification or EJJ.

  • The Hillside group is designed for female residents in need of correctional programming.

This program utilizes the Girls... Moving On curriculum, Voices group, Beyond Violence, and other programming. As a secure facility, AJC is equipped to meet the needs of girls facing certification or EJJ.

  • Adolescent substance use disorder treatment is available for residents who meet criteria for outpatient services based on a comprehensive assessment.

  • This program is designed for male residents in need of correctional programming who also have a criminal sexual conduct charge.

Programming is delivered on site in an outpatient basis through a licensed, contracted provider.

Juveniles are referred to the program through the Juvenile Court System and Probation Departments. A current psychosexual evaluation is required. The program utilizes Thinking for a Change curriculum, Social Skills group, and group therapy.
