ARC:  Arrowhead Regional Corrections

Providing Correctional Services in NE Minnesota’s Five County Region

Arrowhead Regional Corrections (ARC) was formed in 1976 under the auspices of the Minnesota Community Corrections Act and a joint powers agreement between the counties of Carlton, Cook, Koochiching, Lake, and St. Louis.

Divisions of ARC

  • AJC: Arrowhead Juvenile Center

    AJC is a 48-bed secure juvenile facility, licensed by the MN Department of Corrections and the WI Department of Corrections, offering detention and correctional treatment services to delinquent youth within ARC and from other jurisdictions. Treatment interventions include cognitive skills, anger management, social skills training, sex offender programming, culturally and gender specific services, and chemical dependency treatment.

  • NERCC: Northeast Regional Corrections Center

    NERCC is a minimum/medium correctional facility in a work farm setting, providing education, treatment, and trade opportunities to incarcerated men.

    NERCC also has retail spaces to boast: meat processing services, a Farm Fresh Meat Market, a full scale Greenhouse (flowers and vegetables), as well as farm produce and hay for sale.

  • Probation / Court + Field Services

    The Court and Field Services (Probation) Division provides pre-trial, probation, supervised release (parole), and ISR supervision to 5,000 justice involved persons in our five county region.

The Court and Field (Probation) Division serves:

approximately 3,700 people on probation

425 people on supervised release (parole)

750 people on pre-trial release supervision

ARC’s correctional facilities serve over 700 justice involved persons per year.

In 2024, NERCC served 509 men.

In 2024, AJC served 218 juveniles with delinquency offenses.
